Meet The Crew

Meet Carl Peiffer, Co-Owner of Big Red's Pig Party, Team Lead, and the creator of our one-of-a-kind pig cooker box. After designing a custom roaster that gained attention on YouTube, Carl discovered his passion for whole hog cooking and has been roasting pigs for parties since 2015. A gentle giant from Downers Grove, Carl is a proud University of Iowa alum and former Hawkeyes football player (1980–1984). Known for his unforgettable sense of humor and incredible barbecue, Carl has a way of making every guest laugh while serving some of the best whole hog you'll ever eat.

Meet Patricia Uligan, our Operations & Systems Coordinator. Patricia graduated from the Technological Institute of the Philippines in 2025 with a degree in Civil Engineering and works remotely from Metro Manila, Philippines. While you'll probably never meet Patricia at an event, she's an essential part of the Big Red's team behind the scenes. She helps keep the business organized by managing scheduling, coordinating our CRM, tracking inventory, preparing invoices, organizing customer information, and continuously improving the systems that keep everything running smoothly. Patricia consistently goes above and beyond, often working late into the night to help prepare for the next day's events. Her kindness, attention to detail, and dedication make her an invaluable member of the Big Red's family.

Meet Lynn Scatena, one of our Pit Crew members and a familiar face at many of our corporate events and weddings. Lynn grew up in Downers Grove and now lives in Darien with her two sons, both graduates of Downers Grove South High School. She earned her degree from Eastern Illinois University and can always be counted on to deliver exceptional service. Her attention to detail, professionalism, and outstanding work ethic make her one of our go-to team members for some of Big Red's most important events. During the day she works as a paralegal at Sterk Family Law Group.

Meet Jackie Peiffer, the proud mother of the Big Red's boys. Born in Chicago, Jackie moved to Downers Grove to raise her family and graduated from DePaul University. Outside of Big Red's, she works as a Marketing Content and Product Specialist for the American Association of Endodontists. Jackie laid the foundation that allowed Big Red's to become what it is today by supporting our family from the very beginning and opening her home as the place where the business first took shape. Today, she continues to be one of Big Red's biggest supporters, bringing her creativity to wedding décor, professionalism to corporate events, and a welcoming presence to every event she's part of.

Meet Tim Peiffer, Co-Owner of Big Red's Pig Party and Catering Manager. Born and raised in Downers Grove, Tim left his career in logistics to pursue his dream of growing Big Red's into one of Chicagoland's premier catering companies. A University of Iowa graduate with a passion for hospitality and entrepreneurship, Tim oversees nearly every aspect of the business — from booking events and marketing to logistics, staffing, customer service, and day-to-day operations. His goal is simple: to deliver a flawless event that guests will be talking about long after the last bite.

Meet Ben Lynch, one of our trusted Pit Crew members for off-site pig roasts. Ben grew up in Downers Grove and now lives in downtown Chicago. A DePaul University graduate, Ben works as a Staff Accountant at Räte during the week and spends his weekends serving great barbecue with lifelong family friends. Ben is known for his hard work, dependability, and friendly personality. Whether he's serving guests or helping the crew behind the scenes, he's someone both our team and our customers can always count on.

Meet Ryan Scatena, Lynn's son and one of our Pit Crew members. Ryan grew up in Downers Grove and graduated from Downers Grove South High School in 2025. Whether he's helping with food preparation, event setup, or serving guests, Ryan is always ready to jump in wherever he's needed. He's represented Big Red's at festivals and community events, and his strong work ethic, respectful attitude, and willingness to take initiative make him an invaluable member of our team. He loves playing and watching soccer, and works at City Gate Grill in Naperville, following in his father's culinary footsteps.

Meet John Peiffer, Carl and Jackie's oldest son and Tim and Charlie's brother. John was one of Big Red's earliest supporters, helping the company grow during its formative years. After marrying his wife, who serves in the United States Air Force, John moved to Germany, where they're currently stationed at Ramstein Air Base. Although he now lives overseas, John still returns home from time to time — so don't be surprised if you catch him helping out at one of our pig roasts during one of his visits.

Meet Charlie Peiffer, Co-Owner of Big Red's Pig Party, Carl's youngest son, and one of our Team Leads for off-site events. A proud Downers Grove native and University of Iowa graduate, Charlie works as a Technical Recruiter during the week, bringing those recruiting and leadership skills to Big Red's by helping hire and develop our growing team. Charlie is often the friendly face guests interact with throughout an event, helping ensure everything runs smoothly while bringing fresh ideas that connect Big Red's with a younger generation of barbecue lovers.

Meet Josh Rouzan, Carl and Jackie Peiffer's nephew and Tim, Charlie, and John's cousin. Josh is a senior at Montini Catholic High School, where he plays basketball and golf. Outside of Big Red's, he helps operate his family's downtown Downers Grove business, Verbena Soap & Apothecary. Josh's outgoing personality and quick thinking shine at festivals and community events, where he loves interacting with guests, bringing energy to the crowd, and introducing new customers to Big Red's. His confidence, enthusiasm, and natural ability to connect with people make him one of the most exciting members of our team.

Meet Aiden Casey, one of the newest members of the Big Red's crew. Aiden is a senior at Downers Grove North High School, where he plays on the basketball team. His outgoing personality, hustle, and sense of humor make him a natural at festivals and community events, where he enjoys interacting with guests and representing the Big Red's brand. Aiden has a knack for getting people excited, making them stop by our booth, and creating an experience they'll remember. His energy is contagious, his personality shines, and his strong work ethic make him a valuable member of the Big Red's family.
