MEET THE TEAM
Meet Carl Peiffer, your chef and the creator of our one-of-a-kind pig cooker box. After designing a custom roaster that went viral on YouTube, Carl discovered his passion for whole hog cooking and has been roasting pigs for parties since 2015. A gentle giant from Downers Grove, IL, Carl is a proud University of Iowa alum and former Hawkeyes football player (1980–1984).
Meet Tim Peiffer, Carl’s son, assistant chef, and full-time Catering Manager at Big Red’s. Born and raised in Downers Grove, Tim recently left his career in logistics to pursue his dream of growing Big Red’s into a household name. A University of Iowa alum with a deep love for food and community, Tim is dedicated to delivering unforgettable pig roast experiences all summer long.
Meet Charlie Peiffer, Carl’s youngest son and our Assistant Catering Manager for off-site events. Charlie is a proud Downers Grove native and University of Iowa graduate. When he’s not carving pork, he’s helping people land new jobs as a staffing recruiter. Come party with Charlie — he’ll bring the meat and the good vibes.
Meet Ben Lynch, one of our trusted Catering Associates for off-site pig roasts. Ben grew up in Downers Grove and now lives in downtown Chicago. A DePaul University graduate and lifelong family friend, Ben spends his weekdays as an Accounting Analyst at McDonald's HQ and his weekends serving up pork with pride.
Meet Josh Rouzan, Carl’s nephew and Tim’s cousin. Josh is a senior at Montini Catholic High School, where he plays basketball and golf. Outside of sports, he helped launch his family’s new store in downtown Downers Grove, Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. Be sure to check it out next time you're in town!
Meet Lynn Scatena, one of our newest crew members helping at on-site events. Lynn grew up in Downers Grove and now lives in Darien with her two sons: all proud graduates of Downers Grove South High School. Lynn also holds a degree from Eastern Illinois University and brings her warm, community-first spirit to every Big Red’s event.
